This artwork is inspired by the artist’s childhood memories. The artist was born and raised in the city of Detroit, MI and recreates his memories by using his son as a muse. In this piece he is standing in front of a statue located at one of the areas where he would always visit in downtown Detroit, Grand circus park. As he stands in front of the Russel A. Alger fountain, he imitates the stands of the statue. The young boy stands by his city, with his right hand raised declaring “Hale to My City”. (Hale) to be free from defect, disease, or infirmity, retaining exceptional health and vigor. A red dot located on the lower right hand (the mitten symbol for Michigan) of the young boy and the statue marks the location of his city, Detroit. Every limited-edition print will include the handwritten title, print number 1 through 313, and the artist’s signature. The quantity of limited-edition prints has significance. 313 represents the area code of Detroit. The 22"x 28" fine art archival pigment print will be on high quality art paper. All prints will have a 0.5-inch border around the image.
